    Description :

“Çinili Köşk was built by Mehmet the Conqueror in 1472 as an outer pavilion of Topkapi Sarayi, serving as a pied-à-terre for the Sultan on occasions when he wanted to escape the crowded confines of the Harem. From 1874 until 1891 it served as a storehouse for antiquities, which were subsequently moved to the Archaeological Museum. During the 1950s the kiosk was thoroughly restored to its original condition, and now it serves as a museum of Turkish tiles.”
